They have announced that schools in the affected areas will be closed today and most from noon. All decided last night, so there will be many people panicking about childcare, but then that is the least of their concerns.

Stay safe up there, hate this kind of windy weather in the daytime, years ago in 1991 there was a bad storm down south and it was so dangerous, just going out to the car park

It sounds horrific outside and it's only meant to get worse!! Our schools are closing at noon but I've just kept my son at home, schools are saying it won't be marked against us so what's the point of sending them in for 3 hours in this weather?!

Plus I have a mindee arriving at 12 so wouldn't be able to pick my son up on time.

That's me finished work for today, the parents got away from their work early as it's supposed to hit here from 3pm, it's already pretty bad, can't imagine it getting any worse!

Nasty down here and we're a long way south, but we have that weather front coming down so it's tipping down and blowing a gale. Stay safe up there!

Never mind the kids, I hope the schools are off tomorrow, could do with a lie in!!

The wind is really picking up here in the last hour or so, they're a building site near me and there's stuff blowing all over the place, pretty scary! All it takes is one gust of wind in this direction for something to come through my window!

It's weird isn't it? It's so calm compared to what we had 24 hours ago!
