    Default Cook books for children

    Hi

I have a new mindee starting in a couple of weeks and will have some afternoons where it is just us. Thought about doing some cooking with her (almost 4) Thought about letting her help me make dinner. I have loads of books for baking cakes etc but nothing really on making simple, easy and healthy meals. Can anyone recommend any good books?

I have the Cbeebie "I Can Cook" Cookbook. Really easy recipies and small batches too.

Our favourites are Easy Peasy Pizza (minus grapes but with veg & ham), Baked Rice dish (can't remeber what its called) and Gold Digger buns (Mini Rock Cakes with Dried Apricots)

The two faces in our house are the Roald Dahl evolving recipes book and the around the world cookbook. I picked both of them up in charity shops and they were defo money well spent!

Asda and the like do a free store mini mag/book at the till which have some good recipes for children....you can cut them out and make a small scrap book with the children. i recently did the mini individual toad in the hole with the lo's and they all had them for lunch...then we made pancakes for snack with the left over batter.

I got a lovely children's cookbook from M&S about two years ago. It has wipe clean pages which is very useful.
