Default help - don't know what to do!!

I guess it is a typical start up dilemma

I have a mum who wants me to have her dd after school for 3 days starting in aug.
the school that I would have to pick up from is 4.4 miles away and not one of the schools that is in my closer area

also is is quite usual to have after schoolers for only part of the week?

so I am not sure if I should commit to this as I am not sure if this will cause me problems further down the line with children that are closer and might need picked up...iyswim

also, I don't have a car at the moment, but I was going to get one anyway in july time. so theoretically not an issue, but if I commit to this child then I will have to buy one..rather than just planning to buy one...hope that makes sense

    all advice is much appreciated!!

    personally i wouldn't do it.

Whats gonna happen if you get more enquires from a nearer school?
Are you going to drive to the nearer school? or can you walk there?

well one of the schools I can see from my window so we would walk there...:-)

the other one is a bit further but could still walk it on a nice day...would take car only if time or weather issue of some sort..

I think my problem is that it is the first enquiry and I have all spaces open as just about to register and so it feels a bit werird to turn it down

i know what you mean about turning them down, is she coming to see you?

Can you stick adverts at the nearer schools see what comes of that?

    I'd wait to be honest,

My first enquiry was a bit like yours. Wanted a 9yr old to be picked up from a school 6 miles away! (no-one would take her as most only cover up to 8yrs old). But it was impossible for me as my own daughter goes to a school one mile away and i have to pick her up as don't have any relatives or neighbours that i would trust and all my best friends live in the opposite direction.
So had to turn it down.
Chin up, something better will turn up

Hey Nicole, My phone never stops for after school enquiries and I'm just down the road from you, so I would hold off for a while and see what happens. Tell Mum that you can't committ until you are fully registered.

    I think you are right.
will tell her that the school is a bit too far away which is true
just feel bad turning someone down as I have spaces to fill
