    Default charging on snow days??

Hello, my first snow as a childminder....do you charge if parents cant reach you due to snow and ice?? I have one I collect and deliver back so I wont charge them if I cant reach them but what about the 'normals?'

    What does everyone else do??

    Thanks Sally

I still charge. If I do collect or drop off children I do this as a favour and make sure parents are aware of this and make it clear that if for any reason I can't make the journey then it is up to them to bring child to me, if they can't then I would still charge. There was talk a few months ago about childminders having to register as taxis - another reason to be careful if you are charging for pick up and drop off.

I know I know, don't want to alarm you but there was a thread on here some time ago (tried to find it but can't) and there was an article in who minds but again I can't find it. There is something here about it though
http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/regional/t...ehicles?page=4 scroll down a bit and there is a section on Childminders
