£2 per hour?!

I started out 16 years ago at £1.50 an hour...and I only had one space as I have 2 young children of my own
I started off looking after my friend's son & did her a discounted rate of £10 a day, for 4 days a week. I thought I was raking it in at £40 a week
Having said that, there was much less paperowrk, I didn;t have to do a first aid course (though I chose to), no EYFS, no Ofsted even.

Ahhh...those were simpler times

I would love those times back - there seemed more hours in the day for play not paperwork

I was working part time then and as long as I earn't £50/week it was good

we had to do a shorter first aid every year at some point before Ofsted came along. LA thing, cost £5 with St Johns. No wonder I need to earn more with more outgoings - not least printer ink!

In some areas of london some minders are asking £7.00 hr and thats per child dont forget! weekly rates can be £250.00!

I am in SE and the rates are between £5-£6.50 /per hour! It is shocking
