'Most of you look haggard'
Ok so one mum said this to me and commented on how I look relaxed and fresh, (if only she knew!)
She said most childminders look so haggard and worn out. So yes, this is a very demanding job and leaves little time for mani/pedis, beautiful clothes and hair, make up (of you're a lady cm).
So how do you manage to keep yourself looking nice, or do you? I find I have to change clothes sometimes 3 times a day and have been known to dash out the door with spag bol down my jeans. I try my best to have lots of different outfits especially for the school run, but it is exhausting.
Does your partner ever comment on how you've changed while working as a CM?
I think I'd like to employ a cleaner too so I have more time to spend with family and on myself.
How do you all manage?

Must mornings I put on a little make up just so I don't look as pale. Try to avoid tracksuit bottoms as they look stupid on me I can't seem to pull them off.
Have been known to change during the day insteas of answering the door covered in dinner or flour...

I don't! I just shower, tie my hair up and get dressed, usually in jeans and a tshirt. I only wear make up if I'm going out, or if I know I look particularly bad!
If you do not hope, you will not find what is beyond your hopes

If I look tired so be it lol. I cant be a***d with make up and as I have a hair puller here my hair is generally tied up too. If I do the school run covered in paint or food etc then it shows the kids have had fun so not worried about that either. They take me as I am lol x

Oh thank goodness I'm not the only one who doesn't wear makeup! Every now and then I tell myself I really must 'make an effort' but then a few days later I'm back to scraped back hair and no makeup.
-
Never wear make up and my hair is usually in a pony tail or bun.
I can frequently be seen on the school run and or at the end of the day covered in everything! I only change if I really need to.
I don't think dh has noticed any change as I've been in childcare for longer than we've been together ... and I've always dressed the same!

The flip side to that comment is wonder how she gets time to have her hair/nails done. How can she be that immaculate.
Whatever we do there will be someone to say something
When someone tells you nothing is impossible, tell them to go slam a revolving door

She's totally right. I look completely haggard all the time

What a judgemental and pointless remark that is...honestly I am shocked at how cms put up with such behaviour at times....I wonder why the mother asked such a ridiculous question?

Yes she said a lot of things that really gave me an insight to how she thought and what she thought of us! Didn't go with her needless to say...

Wow! Is that true Fussy?

I always have to wear mascara or else I look deathly, I always put lots of moisturiser and sun block on which gives me a nice sheen, I spend a lot of money on my hair and making sure it looks nice, apart from that it's the natural look 100%
