fees due today

I have only been open since beginning of January and fees were due to be paid by both my parents today. Am not happy as I have had both children today and not received payment. Both parents want to pay by trf but nothing is my bank account as of yet and it usually shows straight away.

Since I won't see either parent until next week now I have emailed, pointing out it was due today but not received and could they please tell me when I will receive it. and that I apologise if it has been paid and simply hasnt shown up yet. Now I feel as if maybe I should have waited until tomorrow to email, but its quite late in the day and I would have thought that it would have been paid by now!

What would you have done?

Remind at drop off that payment is due today, check before collection, remind again (gently, or not) upon collection if it's not been paid by then, that should you not receive cleared payment by midnight they will be incurring late fees (mine is £10 per 24 hours or part thereof)
Faster payment option allows 2 hours clearance, but my bank has always shown the payment within seconds of it being transferred.

It is an uncomfortable situation, but you did the correct thing, hopefully they will not need prompting in future. Well done you.

i have a couple of parents who always pay on the last day possible, but i always send a reminder that fees are due by text on the day before they are due. so far, never had anyone not pay.

Well done taking the bull by the horns, parents do take advantage.
I am going to take a leaf out of your book, I am fed up of parents paying late, I find it so disrespectful.
