at the moment i charge monthly but next year i hope to work out
how much a year and divide it by 12 so that every month i get the same
I am stuck though with what to do about christmas and new year
would i be unreasonable charging half fees the two weeks during christmas
Or do u not charge your parents over this period at all??

It depends what your contracts say regarding your holidays and whether you are prepared to work over Christmas period!! I usually take the school holidays off and as I don't charge for my holidays anyway there is no charge for this period!!

I dont charge over this period as i say it is my close down period i also dont count it into my holidays all parents are told at intake that i close on the last day of term and dont open until school goes back, i see it that i bust my gut all throughout the year and i am entitled to some family time where my home is my own, i love to see bare walls at xmas

i close every Christmas too this and take all my time off unpaid. I'm really looking forward to having some family time this Christmas as my son has just turned 2 so i defiantly don't want to work. I will be back bright eyed and bushy tailed in the new year.
