HI all, I have today had a call for a lady baby due in oct wanting me to care in may, i am not very busy at all got vacancies and would love this but what would you charge for the retainer/deposit? This to me is too soon as anything could happen but i cant afford to loose out really

help please anyone

NCMA advise you not to make any arrangements until after the baby is born.

If you want to meet mum for a chat then do so but I would then ask her to get back to you once she's had the baby.

she's panicing i bet.
i was so worried about childcare and costs and finding someone with my first. Invite her over, show her the average fees for the moment, what to expect and what good work you do and then invite her over when baby arrives.
Mould her into a perfect customer... you pay in advance, pay extra for premium hours, do quick drop off etc xxx aw, love ikkle ones xx

Yes - I had the mum of the twins I have come around and look when she was pregnant, but no contracts were signed until the girls were born... I just told her how I work etc, discussed her hours etc. Then I told her to let me know when the girls were born and I went around for coffee when they were newly born, went through paperwork again and then signed etc...
