Hi Pauline, Do you have to have a food hygiene certificate if you are just providing healthy snacks? Sorry if this is a stupid question

Well, it is not yet compulsory to have a certificate at all, although most environmental health officers look for one and Ofsted see it as very good practice and most inspectors like to see one, there have been childminders who have been recommended to get one as part of their inspection.

So really it is up to you, you don't have to have one but it would look good for your inspection if you do.

Not a stupid question by the way.
