Question Advice on NVQ3 in Surrey

Am completely baffled about how to start an NVQ 3. Have read on here that some get it funded. Have looked at Train to Gain website but that just confused me even more. Do I have to apply through a local college, if so, how do I find out which ones are running this course? Is it purely home based but you still have to go through a college or can it be done online? I understand my local authority (Surrey) can offer bursarys but that only covers 80%.

So what I would really like to know is, where do I start?! Any and all advice greatly appreciated.

Contact your local training people first.

They will be able to guide you through the process of providers, funding etc.

Train to gain are the people with the money so to speak and it is delivered through various different trainers depending on where you are, rapido and aspirations are 2 I know of and they are 100% funded. Have a search on the internet for companies near you, or try your development officer she should know and support you,or try your local college but may or may not be fully funded.
I'm with aspirations, fully funded, plenty of workshops unfortunately not on days that I can do. good luck its not that difficult just time consuming but can be used if you want to work in a nursery later on,unlike the dhc.
I hope thats all correct, someone may come along with more info

phone your early years team in the local authority and they will put you in touch with the right people. They specifically look at funding those in childcare training though there have been some changes lately. they will know what they are funding at the moment.

    LOL
