Default DHC 1 - Mock Paper

    Hi all.

My tutor told us at the weekend there is a mock exam paper on the NCMA website for the DHC1, so I've attached it saving anyone having to look for it. Not sure whether anyone has previously uploaded one so apoligies if this is the case.

I've also attached answers so no cheating!!

I presume the mock paper changes on regular occasions though so maybe keep trying them for the most up to date version.

Hope this is of use to someone, I'm off to do mine now Good practice for my actual exam in January

You can also get one from the Cache website - someone who was on my ICP course told me that it was different to the one on the NCMA site I'll take a look and see if I can find it - I'm no good at putting links on here but I will describe how to find it.

Thanks for the info Super Stars, I've been onto the Cache website and found them as well. Documents attached.

Additionally, there are sample assignments too for the DHC 2, 3, 4 and 5. Very helpful indeed.

Annie_T: I did a mock last night and got a 'referal' Was gutted and instantly got my head in my books and started reading. There is no way I want to fail my exam in January!!!

Oh, I so wish I had seen these a week ago (cos that is when I did my real one).

In the CACHE mock I got 2 wrong and in the NCMA mock I got 3 wrong, BUT the real test I did last week was a LOT HARDER ...

My test last week had a number of 1,2 and 4 only answers but none of the xxx because xxx (statements / reasons are true / false) questions

Anyone know how long it takes for CACHE to issue your results. I know Xmas is going to put a spanner in the works, but any indication, would be helpful.

when we were training to be support minders we took a mock icp exam - we all scraped through with a pass - just!!! I think its because we had the experience behind us, when we thought about the answers (the correct ones we got wrong) it was obvious!!!

When we done the icp it was assignment based thank goodness

I asked my tutor for you and she said 3-4 weeks but obviously with Christmas and New Year in that, it could well be longer

These got me too, totally didn't understand them and needless to say, got all of them wrong last night on my practice test I did at home. So have been studying hard ever since. Urghh, what horrible questions!!! Now I understand what they're actually asking me, I might stand a chance of getting them right. Going to print the CACHE version and work through that tonight and see how I go with that one.

I did my ICP / DHC Unit 1 course over the course of several weeks (2 hour slots).

Our tutor dedicated a few mins at the end of each session to go over 'mock multiple choice questions'.

The thing about these questions is that you need to concentrate on the key words that they are asking.

What is the BEST practice ... means all the answers are correct, but some are more correct than others.

What helps a 2yo to play ... means anything that cannot be 'played' cannot be in the answer.

I actually liked the questions where you had 3/4 answers and then you had to choose which combo of those 4 were the best. I used to immediately eliminate the answers that had ridiculous suggestions, and then choose from what is left.
