    Default Boiler cover

I am with a boiler repair company and they are hopeless ...

Does anyone have any recommendations please? They need to -

Come on the day they say they are coming

Not make me wait 3 or more weeks before I can get an appointment

Fix the boiler when it is broken

    Am I asking too much?

I don't actually have cover with a company but do have a very reliable plumbers.

As long as I have my boiler serviced within April and October they guarantee to come out and see me no matter how busy they are. Last time I had to order parts and it took 24 hours start to finish.

    My service is £60

I changed mine to AA... really good service unlike British Gas (who cancelled less than 24 hrs before a service as they were 'too busy' - even though I had booked it 2 months in advance )

I'm also with British Gas and they have been quite quick at coming out, apart from times of high demand like last winter.

I am the same as Chatterbox childcare - I use a local and reliable plumber to service the boiler and he will often "pop in" and do something quickly with only a small charge so I prefer to use this sort of service.

    I am with Eon

No problems, they come out on day they say they will and if an emergency - such as heating not working will come out same day.

It is not as cheap as some have quoted at £16 per month - but that does cover boiler annual service / system check, all labour and most parts that might be needed to repair boiler / system.

I think it is worth paying for peace of mind

It's Eon I am sacking Penny they have been totally hopeless!

    I will investigate British Gas.

I have never seen Domestic and General vans locally but I'll see if they are round here too and do a price comparison.

Thank you for all your suggestions! You are all fab

i'm with british gas and had a problem with the boiler last saturday night, i called and they came out at 8.30 monday morning as they had nothing available on sunday, anyway when the engineer came out he said you should have told them you are a nursery/childminder, you get priority. so if i'd known it wouldve been repaired the same night. i think they are really good, they offer two hour slots and phone you before they arrive to let you know the time they are coming

We had british gas out today - got up this morning to no heating - rang just before 7 and they came just after 12 and left just after 1 all fixed. Before Xmas had a leaking radiator rang on a Friday they came on the tuesday (this was a non urgent case as we had managed to contain leak) and then had to order the radiator and the company they use said it would have to wait until after Xmas the engineer said not good enough lady (he meant me) is a childminder - radiator was fitted 2 days later

I am with the AA. When we had to call them out at 7pm, they arrived by midnight and stayed through the night until the problem was sorted.

They did have to come back the following day to change a part that they had had to order for me.

We get an annual service too, all within the price!
