Default WELLIES - WHAT DO YOU THINK ?

They are going to be a huge fashion hit this year

    Do you like them?

    Hate them?

Do you like plain ones or the funky ones?

I am not sure if to get a pair, I cant wear much with my bad leg but I have been told they have a lot of room in them - does anyone know?

Now what should I go for ?

I have seen a lot of people in these

    http://www.next.co.uk/x483334s3

I have seen lots on this site

    http://www.gardenxl.com/clothing-and...FcYPfAodjE5UPQ

Any ideas anyone - do they have lots of leg room in them ?

Should I go for plain or funky?

I love wellies, mine are a good old proper pair of Barbour. I need to get some new ones as mine have died and i think if there's lots of snow this year they're going to leak. I use mine everyday to sort out the chickens so mine are more than a fashion statement. I even have wellie warmers for the winter which are great.

    They're definatly roomy.

My legs are too fat for wellies

I wear Mucker Boots instead but I bought my DD's all realy funky wellies last year and they love them. I like the idea of the wedge wellies, I wish I could get into them.

Whether I am right or not remains to be seen but mucker boots are ankle length boots that you use for mucking out - horses etc, looking a bit like this http://www.rideaway.co.uk/HARRY-HALL...S/default.aspx
Although I'm sure there are more attractive styles somewhere...

I think the next ones are awful, personally. My legs are also a bit .. well not skinny exactly but I always have a huge gap at the top that I could fit my arm down with my leg, so it looks and feels weird to me. I need to find some skinny wellys.

My legs are too chunky and short for wellies!

might look at the mucker books - thanks for the tip

we have loads of wellies in and around the house - well it is on a farm there are 4 pairs in the back porch now need moving to a shed

DS and DH have buckbootz cost more but they do live in them most of the winter and warm too

DD likes coloured ones and needs a slimmer leg boot or they are too uncomfortable to walk in and for a size 7 she has slim feet - never easy to get shoes/boots and opposite problem to me
Happy to be back with the Greenies

My legs are also too fat for wellies (gap in the market I think!) I do have a pair but I've had to make a small slit in the top to be able to get them on. Mine are bright blue and in the past (when I was slimmer and went to festivals!) I had pink ones with flowers on them.

I'm planning on buying snow boots this year instead.

I bought my wellies a couple of years ago from Costco. I have fat calves & didn't think they'd fit, so was very pleased when they did. They're pink patterned ones.
In the winter our back garden gets very muddy in patches, so it's great to have wellies on, like the children do. They're also fab for the wet, sludgy school run as they keep my feet dry, unlike most of my boots. And of course, they're easy to clean down after a trip to the park.

For those of you who don't think you can fit into wellies, I'd say try some on. You might be pleasantly surprised!

I have short hunter wellies as my legs are on the chunkier side

Not a fashion statement but can't stand wet feet so will wear them they are really comfy.

If you have any problems with knees or legs, anckles etc I wouldn't touch Wellies because they don't support your feet or ankles.

In fact if you are pushing heavy buggies in wet or in the snow you can really do some bad damage. One of the cms in our group has had terrible problems and now is waiting for an operation on her anckles

Good walking boots that support your feet and ankles are the best thing to wear.

if I wear wellies they are ususaly mens as my calfs are to chunky for ladies,, I maily wear mine for the allotment when its really wet and muddy but generaly I wear walking boots which I find are much more comfotable and are waterproof in the snow and also nice and warm. they do some nice ones in the mountain warehouse or regatta.

I hate wellies, (personal opinion here) I think they are ugly. I think the 'funky' ones look ridiculous (remember it's my personal opinion).

I do however quite like the look of those 'mucker' boots. I might even be tempted to get a pair. I can't wear walking boots cos the cut the flesh on my ankles, I have very thin skin on my feet and ankles, and really bad eczema. So I tend to live in trainers all year round. I have a number of pairs so that I can dry one pair and wear another.

I Love my wellies. I Currently have blue ones with pink patterns on - my daughter bought them for mothers day. I wear them nearly every day in winter, for school runs, trips to the park, I love being able to splash in the puddles with the LO's and not worry about ruining my shoes, boots or trainers.

Mine are plain green from the farmers shop, hubbys are plain green from the farmers shop kids are plain green......you get my drift. With over 2ft of snow to wade through for a month wellies are essential here cause you can't get the blooming car out!
    Come back David....
