    Default Refreshing drinks?

I cannot find anything that will quench my thirst at the moment, i am drinking glass after glass of cold water and i am also drinking decaff tea but i am still so thirsty! I cannot stomach squash and coke just gives me a nasty taste in my mouth...in fact i constantly have this vile taste in my mouth that i cant even clear by brushing my teeth...i cant brush my tongue as that makes me vomit. I know this is all just part of morning - or should i say - awake sickness but i wondered if there was anything i could try...

Oh, ice lollies make me feel sick too...already tried those...

maybe some ice? i suppose i could try eating some crushed ice?

    What about orange juice?

WHen I was expecting my first I craved ice cold orange juice - I could get through 2 or 3 litres a day! Funny thing was, I'd hated it before then.

For the horrible taste in your mouth, have you tried a minty chewing gum? I used to get through packets of the stuff! I didn't chew it for long, but the initial intense minty burst at the beginning was a relief from the yucky taste in my mouth.

I know you said you don't like squash but what about lime cordial ?

When I was going through chemo it was the only thing that took the horrid taste in my mouth away.

I had sickness all the time when pregnant...

I used travel sickness acupressure bands, took anti-emetic's and still I puked...

I gave up worrying what I was eating as I knew I would see it again shortly...

I did go totally off chocolate though and soon got used to the taste of gaviscon! used to drink it :s

what about trying sparkling or slightly flavoured water - make your own with some pure fruit juice.

Or green tea is nice - maybe try iced or cold lemon tea?

Another vote for Ginger Beer. Ginger is great for morning sickness. Lemonade and lime is noce too.

When I was expecting DD4 I craved ice cold coke with loads of ice.

    Hi
you can get something called redbush tea which is naturally caffeine free, as hydrating as water and rich in antioxidants - thats what the box says, it also says good when you are trying to cut out coffee when pregnant. I tried it when i was pregnant.
As for the horrible taste I am sorry to say i found nothing helped even brushing my tongue, I just had to get used to it in the end.

Hope you find something that helps

ooh the horrible metallic taste in your mouth? isn't that something to do with iron levels. eat red meat, lots of spinach hon and maybe get your iron levels tested? Try chewing gum?
