    Talking fireman visit!!!

    wow!

i emailed north yorkshire fire service last week, asking if someone could come to do a fire safety visit ....

30 minutes ago i had a phone call to arrange a visit ... he said he could pop over now!

i've just had a fire engine and tall fireman in uniform visit me! DS was SOOOOO excited !!! ( DD sadly slept through the whole visit, didn't even stir when he tested smoke alarms ) fireman said that when i have some mindees, we could go & visit the fire station ( its only 5 mins away! )

i don't think its compulsory, just 'good practice' !!! we were strongly encouraged to have a visit when i lived in hampshire, so i just contacted them! but i don't think its a regular thing they do in north yorkshire!

    Default Fire visit

I had them come last month, I'd had the decorators in and they had taken the smoke alarms down.

The lovely firemen, three of them, put up lovely new fire angels free of charge.
The stayed an hours and did a house check and gave excellent advice.

i then also arranged a visit for all of ur group to the station and the children got to play with the hoses, and I had to dress up in a firemans uniform, it was so heavy and hot!

They were brilliant, we all had great fun and they gave each child a goody bag and stickers!

    Smile Fire inspection visits..

Does anyone know for good practise, how often we should have fire inspections? I had the firemen to visit a couple of years ago and they mentioned that when the smoke alarms stopped working, that they would replace them. I have my inspection soon, so just wanted to make sure I have everything in order!
