Default West Midlands Safari or Twycross Zoo

We are going up to the midlands to stay in Half term and we like zoos, but was wondering if anyone can recommend which would be better. None of us like rides and we could probably only afford one place or the other.

    Feedback would be appreciated

For LO's I prefer Twycross as there is enough to do for a whole day out...haven't been to west midlands for a few years but we struggled to fill half a day after going around the animals. Just depends on the day your after. I'm sure someone will be along and be able to give you a bit more info about west mids.

We go to twycross a few times a year and love it!

Have a fab day whatever you decide

Any other ideas for the area with children, we are staying outside of Rugeley. We are only going there cos my nearly 8 year olds guilty pleasure is still Thomas, so thats we are going so far up north

Happy to drive a bit if necessary

One of my mindees recently went to Twycross and Drayton Manor.

They loved Drayton and Thomas, but were disappointed with Twycross.

Friends also went to Drayton and Thomas and loved it.

I havent been to either, so cant really help!

Oh yes Drayton manor is fab but depends on the height of your little ones and thomas land is great for thomas fans!

Thanks for the input, not sure what we will do

Special thanks to Tribe Mummy for the days out list, I havent seen that site before, but it looks great for when we go on holidays. There were several things on that list that may be suitable for us

The Safari Park is on my doorstep.
I love it but it is now quite expensive. The sealion show is fab and they do animal encounters through the day, lo's get the chance to stroke the pythons etc. The bat cave is dark and can be a bit scary for smalls and it smells awful!
There are othe bits, fish and creepy crawlies but go careful in the gift shops you will spend a fortune!
I would definitely recommend a visit, buy some animal food and you can feed all sorts en-route. The giraffes slobber alot, be warned.
