OK BUT please let them do it on a friday after lunch...so that is is getting 5 o'clock quicker...rather than taking it off our short short weekends!!!

Just read this up on a google search, all makes perfect sense, except kids still have to get up for school in the morning, so going to bed later to enjoy the longer evenings is not an option!

It says about pensioners being afraid of being out in the dark, well the majority dont work so arent constricted by a normal day, so go out earlier and would still be tired and want to go home scared of the drunks and others that are loitering around to cause trouble later at night still!

And a lot of people now do not work a conventional day anyway, we all get up at differing times, but they reckon it will save energy bills as we would have the light on less.

I am tired losing an hour out of the precious weekend, let alone the effects of losing two!

Yes I read this a few weeks ago

Even talk about doing a 3 year trial - imagine that we could get used to it then they say it dont work so we could be back to square one again

Imagine it getting dark at 11pm the kids would never go to sleep ha ha

The clocks changing this time has done me a favour the children actually slept in until 8am this morning I don't mind as long as they keep one continuous time and stop all this silly changing around

Did it not already have a trial in the 60s or 70s though and it obviously didn't work too well or we'd still be doing it?

No, I think in the early 70's they tried not changing the clocks at all (I hate to say I do remember ) and it didn't work, can't remember why though.

    Now that is funny

My hubby had his appendix out in the early 80s and my son to this day says he always thought it was something that happened to him in the war
