Default What a morning i've had!!

On new years day me and hubby went and collected our new puppy. Shes a 9 weeks old Japanese Akita called Mia. Shes very good but doesnt like being left alone.

Today was the first day that i've been on my own with her (hubby gone back to work). So this morning when he got up he let her out and let her sit with him in the living room until he had to leave then he put her up stairs and closed the stair gate at the bottom of the stairs (we dont have one on the top). Our other dog (16 year old male called george) sleeps downstairs near the stairs. Well I heard Hubby leave thought nothing of it and went back to sleep abit later (7.40) i heard Mia crying and thought it was because she was on her own so i got up and opened the bedroom door so she could get it but she wasnt at the door but because it was dark i couldnt see her so went back to bed she was still crying so i shouted her but she never came so i got up and put the light on to see where she was and all i could see was her bum at the bottom of the stairs near the stairgate. Her crying was getting worse so i went down to see what was wrong turns out she got stuck she had tried to get to george but had gone through the bars in the banister (how she managed it i'll never know coz shes quite a big puppy and even looking now i would never have thought she could get her head through never mind her head and body. Anyway she'd got stuck because she couldn't get her hips through and she was well and truly wedged in and of course I was on my own Hubby had gone to grimsby for college (the one day of the week hes not at work across the road!!) so i tried to ring hubby to see how far away he was but his contract has ran out and got cut off this morning and i didnt know the number to his pay as you go! Typical eh?

Our neighbours had been away for 2 weeks over christmas and new year and it turns out they got back late last night so i had to run round there and her to help me (by this time i was crying because my puppy was hanging down the stairs (she couldnt reach the floor) so my neighbour took pity on me and came and helped me and even she was shocked that she'd managed to get through anyway we managed to squeeze her out and she is now fine and my neighbour probably thinks i'm a right loony crying on her door step at 8am on a monday morning because of a dog! Luckily she has 2 gorgeous dogs and knows what they are like and they get her up early (thank god!).

I've since managed to get hold of hubby and what did he do??????

no i wasnt cross with her for long she licked my face off as soon as i got her free.

Its just so typical that it had to be the one day that hubby wasnt in the area.

She wont get the chance to do it again i wont leave her on the stairs until shes grown abit more and cant get through.

afterwards i did think that i should've taken a photo to send to her breeder to show that she'd settled in fine lol.

shes earning her keep by helping me lose weight haha! walking her everyday will certainly get the weight off especially as she gets bigger. The vet today said shes going to be huge for a female akita and they are naturally big dogs anyway!

She's settled in well with all the other animals though! Good job really coz we have a mini zoo now. 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 bearded dragons a chameleon and tropical fish.

well last night the little monkey jumped over the stair gate bear in mind that my stairgate is quite high because we have to have it on the first step up. We couldnt believe she'd managed it! We are slowly running out of rooms we can keep her in lol

Oh well i'm off to gym tots cant wait to see what shes managed to do by the time i get back!
