Can anyone tell me if you can play playstation 2 games on the playstation 3.

My brother is thinking about buying a playstation 3 but definitely wants play Disney Singstar which is a playstation 2 game.

No , unless you have bought an older one which are backwards compatible

He's now going to see if he can find an old one. Most of the shops only have the slim one which isn't compatible.

We were told the older ps3 wasnt compatible with ps2 games either by the chaps in gamestation.

there are certain games that are compatable, but only a few on the newer ps3. Best to google it before he decides what to do

I might offer him my playstation 2 with Disney singstar. It's sat in my daughter's room at Uni. She doesn't use it.

Will earn me a bit of money as well!!
