Has anyone got pregnant?

Hello All

Can I ask if anyone has become pregnant while they are childminding, and how this works with regards to receiving any benefits for Maternity Leave, etc?

My husband and I are want to have our 2nd child together, but I am relatively new to Childminding and want to know how this may affect us. I have only been childminding for 8 weeks, but have arranged to make my National Insurance contributions so does that mean I will be entitled to benefits down the line?

If NI contributions are up to date you claim maternity allowance which is about £130 week claimed for up to nine months with ten 'keeping in touch days' Can be stopped at any time if you decide to start back early.
