wet days!
so ... for the past few weeks, the same day every week, the weather has been atrocious! just looked at next week, to make a few plans and yep! same day ... rain forecast all day!
We do go out in the rain/cold etc, but after a little while, everyone gets very fed up and grumbly! There are not any local toddlers groups that day, nor storytimes or music sessions or anything! our local zoo and farm have shut for winter as well. The children are happy playing at home, but I like to get out and about, and it just seems to always be this particular group of children who are stuck with awful weather! There is only so much puddle jumping you can do!
fingers crossed the weather changes!

Hope you have a good week Loocyloo ...we don't actually go very far from home at the moment we just have the issue of getting out in the garden as it ends up getting to slippery. With current cohort of children it's tricky to get out due to SEN needs etc It's hard on your own. To be fair the children are happy being in the garden or the local park and we do go out one day a week plus another fortnightly toddler group.
Any tips on little ones keeping their mittens/gloves on would be greatly appreciated as last week on two separate occasions I had a very unhappy little ones whose hands were soo cold on the school run, they just didn't get that they needed to keep their hands in their mittens.

Awww thank you, and bless your little ones keeping mittens on. I have before now, put a pair of socks over the top (that go up arm before coat goes on!) I think you can get some mittens/ gloves that come with long cuffs... (think they are Scandinavian) i do find childrens hands stay warmer in mittens than gloves (and so much easier to keep on! ) my own children used to have theirs on elastic down the coat sleeves, but tight/short enough elastic so that they didn't easily slip off!
Good luck xx

Pixie, I think I read somewhere that putting socks over the gloves helps - the gloves can go up to their elbows under their coat!
Oh loocyloo, that's annoying that it rains on the same day each week, lol. There really is only so much puddle jumping one can do!
So, my question is...do any of your prospective parents actually ask to see your ofsted reports? I've never had anyone ask to see a report before. Today, I had a prospective parent around and she is pretty keen, just emailed me tonight with a few more questions, which is totally fine. However, she asked me for a link to my 'current and previous Ofsted reports'. I don't mind, as they were decent, but if you have decided on someone already, why does the Ofsted report matter - especially 'previous' reports? I do absolutely get that it is extra reassurance, of course I do, and who knows, I would possibly ask the same in her position, but it irked me a little. Actually, I think that it was her formal manner that irked me. I think I am easily irked.

Thanks for the sock tip, I will give it a go.
I think I have had a parent in the past ask to see it, I think the majority of parents come to me via recommendation so they aren't that bothered by Ofsted reports.

This is me too .... to be honest I have become less tolerant to parents ideas/requests.

Lol!
I too get irked by parents requests and ideas. I'm not sure though when anyone last asked to see or at my ofsted report. I think all my current children and majority of past children come through recommendation/ seeing me around!
