    Default Drizzly Tuesday

We didn't have any snow yesterday, just very cold. It's much milder here today, and a bit drizzly. We've been playing in the garden with sand and warm water. We've done a bit of Christmas painting. I just drew the shape of a Christmas tree and let the LO paint however she wanted. I'm going to do some salt dough tomorrow.

My DD is away this weekend on her year 6 residential trip. The photos look like they're having lots of fun. I'm missing her lots but she's back tomorrow evening.

    How is everyone's week going?

Hope your DD has had a good time Ellisha.

We've not done much today... just played trains and pottered. It's been cold, warm, windy, rainy, showery ... but at least all the snow and ice has gone!

I still need to get all my advent and Christmas stuff down from the loft !!! That's the next job.

    Stay warm everyone xxx

We've had a drizzly, miserable day today. It has been a bit warmer, but that didn't make up for the grim weather. We went into the garden for a while, but the children just wanted to come back indoors. It was quite nice really, shutting out the world and being happy in our little bubble in the house.

We did lots of colouring, read every Christmas book in the book basket and got the musical bells out for our song session (that wasn't one of my better ideas) It was lovely and the children all went home happy.

This evening I took my grandson for a walk round the local streets to see the Christmas lights. There are some really impressive displays so he's now asking if we can have outdoor lights. We've never had them before but I think we're going to have to get some. It won't be anything fancy, but I'm sure we can manage something simple. Do you have outdoor lights? I love looking at them, but have never thought of having any here.

We have had another damp day so we have stayed in as the little ones are just starting to walk and my decking is so slippy. We have been out on school runs so we have been out walking.

Mouse we normally have outside lights but DH has announced he doesn't want to have the lead coming through the window like we normally do as we had new windows fitted, he has promised me that next year he will get an outdoor electric socket fitted. The children who have been coming to me for a few years now love that we have loads of lights up so I guess I will have to put them inside around the windows.

DH came home with a lovely advent calendar for me today

I have my new starter coming tomorrow for their first settling in session, I am hoping it will go well but on the initial visit they cried the whole time.

Good luck with your new starter Pixie.

We have lights on the outside of house... just simple comped lights, but they do/can flash! We do have outside sockets. Dd and I want some shapes or something pretty and have for years, but DH doesn't agree, and as it's him who would have to put it up, we've had to accept we're not having one!

Thanks .....I think this one is going to be a challenge, I had to take them from mum kicking and crying, after a few minutes they settled down and started to investigate the playroom then started to play with some toys which was positive. They haven't had much social interaction with other children (they do have older siblings who are at high school)parents are concerned as there isn't any speech but at the 2 year check HV wasn't concerned. They ignored the other children who were here. Alarm bells are already ringing in my head. I am hoping that once they are settled we will see some progress.
