    Default Good afternoon Tuesday

I don't know where the time's gone today. We've been busy all day and we were still out in the garden when the first parent arrived at home time. I hadn't realised it was that late!

Despite the sun being out it was freezing outside and I haven't warmed up yet. We had the odd flurry of snow but nothing was sticking or lasting long.

While we were outside a cat came running through the garden. I'm not sure where it lives, but it often comes to visit. As I said to the children "oh look, there's Jess" (we don't know its real name, but it's black & white!) it turned round and I saw it had a huge rat in its mouth! It ran straight back out of our garden so I guess it was taking it home. If I was its owner I wouldn't be very happy with it turning up with that

This evening DH has decided he's making dinner. It'll probably end up being something like beans on toast, but I'm tired tonight and can't be bothered to cook, so I'll take whatever he comes up with! If he really wants to be fancy I suppose he could always sprinkle some cheese on it

Its snow day two here so no older ones again today as they have stayed home with their parents who have managed to work from home the last couple of days. We went outside this morning and the children enjoyed the snow more than they did yesterday, I think it was just too cold yesterday with the wind. We have had flurries on and off all day. I have just been out with the dog and the paths are quite icy now but roads are clear so I expect school will be back to normal in the morning.

Hope your DH cooks you something nice Mouse mine cooks most night when he is home which is great when you have been working all day.

Only one little one here today and she flat refused to go out. Her dad pulled her here on a sledge this morning so that was probably enough for her. Not that I complained too much though. So we made a Valentine card for her parents, which I never do with children. I think it’s a more adult thing so I usually follow a theme of looking after our own hearts. It’s finally stopped snowing but it’s so cold. Though having seen the temperatures in Scotland I have to accept that I really am a southern softie.

Sylvia I’m a southern softie also but my husband calls me tight with the heating, can’t bear to have it on all day. I look after a 92 year old and her house is soooo warm ( understandably) it’s horrid can’t wait to get in the fresh air.

I also feel valentine is more a adult thing or teenager thing.

Hopefully the rat was dead and not still alive mouse, the owner would be pleased then I’m guessing.

Today is Wednesday and it’s going to be a cold day, wrap up warm everyone.

My cat brought in a huge rat once. I think he found it already dead though. He took it upstairs and dropped it on the landing. I can’t go near any dead animal, even worse when it’s a bird. I actually asked the postman if he could go and pick it up for me and put it in the been. 😂😂😂 what a lovely man!!

Sylvia I've had postmen come and remove spiders for me. Luckily I don't have a cat - they are my favourite animals but I absolutely could not cope with the presents.

I remember once when I was little, our cat brought home a dead bird. I was devastated and tried to bring it back to life. I put it in the kitchen sink and tried to give it a drink. I remember thinking my mum was so uncaring when she discovered us and got so cross with me! I don't know why I wasn't grossed out as a child because if I found DD with a dead bird in my kitchen sink, or a rat on my landing, I think I would pass out.
