    Default Good morning Friday

    What’s everyone up to today?

DH is at the hairdressers first thing then we’re off to get the last (hopefully!) of the Christmas shopping. He’s already being all ‘bah humbug’ about it, moaning that he doesn’t want to go anywhere that’s busy. I’ve told him it’s tough, he’s got to face town at some point.

When’s everyone breaking up for Christmas? I’m finishing on 17th, next Thursday. I did have a mum telling me yesterday that her daughter’s school (older sibling of one of my little children) is now closing a day early and it’ll be really awkward having her at home an extra day. I wasn’t sure if she was hinting for me to have her, but I didn’t offer!

Last night one of my older sons came home with some outdoor Christmas lights! We’ve never had outdoor lights before so I’m quite excited about them! They’re very basic, nothing fancy, but it’ll be lovely having some up. It’s his job at the weekend to set them up

Have good days everyone. Keep going - it’s nearly time for a break

Be careful when you're mowing the lawn Mouse with those lights! DH went to three different Home Bargains yesterday trying to replace the lights that he mowed in half yesterday. They were all sold out, so today he has gone to the garden centre where they will probably be twice the price. There is a lot of banter about lights between us and 4 other houses on the close, so we are under 'mock' pressure not to be the bah humbug house!

We have just added glitter to mindee's Christmas decoration, so hopefully it will be dry enough for him to take home today. He's just having a little play and then we'll be off for a walk.

Anyone seen any good Christmas movies (adults/family)? We watched Mail Order Christmas, which was sweet. Last night we watched My Dad's Christmas Date, which was rubbish, and sad, so tonight we are after a cheerful one again. I'm wanting to try 'Last Christmas'.

I'm going to have to pop to town in the morning I think. I usually get my niece Topshop vouchers, but I won't be doing that this year. Martin Lewis was saying that amazon vouchers are probably the safest vouchers to get at the moment.

My last day will be Monday 21st.

Our schools have included Friday as an inset day so I have 2cextra ones. Parents work in a school who aren't.

I made mince pie brownies this morning.

I think I have one more give to buy. Its hard as I'm trying not to buy from amazon and support the high street and independents but when it comes to delivery and vouchers its very hard not to use them

We've been for a walk around town looking at all the lights and pretty windows. Lots of the houses and businesses on the high street and surrounding roads have outside trees in brackets on their walls and it looks so pretty .... it's a bit grey and drizzly here, but it made the lights all seem more magical!

We've also been to see our friends in the post office and library. We were reading a few books and ended up singing jingle bells and the library staff joined in

Home now for lots of Christmas stories and craft.

    I finish on 22nd Dec.

And I've NEVER been so organised ... we've written and posted ALL the cards, all gifts bought, and those needing to be posted ... have been posted! Just family wrapping left to do! I've just bought DH a padded porridge bowl holder thing for when you're cooking a bowl of porridge in the microwave! Our library was selling them, and DH likes his porridge!

I made Christmas mincemeat flapjack last night ... that was yummy! Enjoy the brownies Fussy.

Went for a walk with my friend this morning. Then picked up grandson2 from preschool and spent the afternoon playing dinosaurs. We watch gruffalo and gruffalos child. I’ve been knitting some small xmas decorations and the toy stuffing I needed came today so I’m doing some of that this evening. I have a flu jab booked for tomorrow. The doctors rang and asked if I was interested in having it as it was free.
