Default Good morning Monday... I think!

What’s your weather like today? After a lovely few days it’s turned cold and windy here. It’ll make a change sitting indoors rather than sitting in the garden

When lockdown is lifted and we’ve got a bit more freedom, will you be rushing back to your old way of doing things or do you think you’ll practice social distancing for a while longer? I’m looking forward to being able to let my son into the house rather than just chatting on the doorstep when he’s passing on his walk. I’m also looking forward to seeing another son who doesn’t live quite so close and who we haven’t seen for a couple of months.
But I don’t think I’ll be dashing back to the supermarket or visiting busy places any time soon. I’ve been really lucky and have managed to get an online delivery each week so haven’t had to go to the shops. I really don’t think I’ll want to go back straight away when they say we can

Morning! It’s cloudy and very windy in Kent but the sun is trying hard to peep through. We were talking about this yesterday and I don’t think people will be so quick to give people a hug like they used to. I never have been a huggy type but my daughter and her friends are so it will be interesting to see. I have food deliveries usually and last week was the first that I didn’t have one. Felt weird going into the store. It was one in one out but still found 4 people in the same isle😰. I managed to get a click and collect for Thursday but looked again today for the following week and nothings available. It is what it is, I’m just not worrying about it. I’m sure we won’t go without food. Have a good day everyone

    Afternoon!

It's a very chilly and overcast day here too!

I'm looking forward to being able to get out to the beach and the woods, and meet up with family and friends.

I'm also looking forward to being able to have an online food delivery again! We're about 45 minute drive ( at least ) from the nearest supermarkets ( in any direction! ) that do deliveries and so they are very stretched and slots are rarely available. Whilst I can go shopping I am, as well as using local independent shops. But I loathe shopping, so am not enjoying the experience at all!

    Have a good day everyone

I'm looking forward to browsing around the shops - food and general shops. I do think I will be very cautious when we are first allowed out. At least until a vaccination is developed!

It will be nice to be able to go out more than once a day. Sometimes I think about going out as soon as I get up, but then I think - no, because that will be it for the day then. When I put my key in the front door after my walk I think well, that's it for another day. We have spotted the occasional neighbour going out twice in a day, but generally everyone is being really good here - and who knows why someone has had to pop out for a second time that day?

    What a day!!!!!

Got up and one of the dogs couldn't/wouldnt get off the settee. Got to admit I feared the worst as she is nearly 12.
Spoke to the vet and on examination shes ripped one of her claws. Paracetamol twice a day and the claw has now come off. Apparently its really painful for a dog.

Other than than that the kitchen is decorated so im just decluttering.

I think my family after this covid 19 will be gutted when there is no longer time to bake/cook as much.

I must admit im looking forward to a wander around the shops and a trip to a national trust dite lkke Alderley Edge

Oh gosh Fussy. Your poor dog. I wonder how she did that? Did you have to take her to the vets or was it a telephone consultation?

We have no idea ds1 went to bed at 3am playing a computer game and she was ok so who knows.

We did a telephone consultation and the vet talked dh through checking everything. They will only see you if its life threatening

Maza people like me have to go out more than once a day ( dog walk) I look after 91 year old so I go in twice a day to her as she’s on her own and needs help.i also do her shopping as there are no deliveries as people when they got a hint there was a lock down coming booked lots of deliveries in advance leaving no spaces for people that really need it. So yes, some people have to go out more than once.

Oh gosh, I know some people have to go out more than once - I was saying it tongue in cheek because DH and I have become so nosey in our boredom and have become people watchers. I didn't mean to come across as the people police/judgemental. Well done for all you are doing for the 91 year old. Sorry if I caused offence - just re-read my post and can see how I probably came across. Remember to look after yourself too. x

No offence taken. I would love to stay in as it’s all tiring and worrying but needs must. I think I’m just as busy now ( in a different way) then when I had the mindees here.Sorry if I seemed snappy didn’t mean to be.I to see people still having get togethers and I find it unbelievable and very selfish.
I also like coming on to the site to chat with you all. I was just being a bit defensive so sorry.

Yer. My neighbour has a very elderly mum who’s on her own so she goes over 3 times a week to take food or shop for her. She also has a daughter who’s partner recently hung himself. There are 3 children, 2 of which are Albino and partially sighted. So my neighbour is back and forward to that household too. She still tries to go for a walk but she looks exhausted mainly with stress. I sometimes think how easy my life seems, especially while I’m not working. These people are also unsung heroes I think.

I often wonder what the neighbours are doing. All the family go out in the car but dont take the dog.

But then i think what are they thinking about dh who can be in and out all day.

But saying that we dont all go in the car.

We try to break up the day i prefer to walk the dog earlier so me and the little 2 walk the dog in the morning. Dh goes work and dd1 does the shopping. Ds1 is hsppy pretending hes is a vampire.

I do like to people watch and imagine people having extraordinary lifes

I went and done a big shop first time since the lock down armed with multiple shopping lists trying to decipher people’s writing.
i met a women in the supermarket who just burst into tears! said she was finding it all so stressful, I felt so helpless, felt like giving her a hug but obviously couldn’t so I told her I was feeling the same and a few tears is nothing to be ashamed of (I think she was also embarrassed for crying).I must say I felt more stressed coming out than I did going in!

Sylvia your neighbour must be warn out poor thing.I do hope she does get a walk a day to help clear her head and relax. But I bet her minds on overdrive thinking about what she has to do next.

When someone’s relying on you it’s so hard to relax.

Today’s looking like a brighter day.... sun wise. So let’s all smile and carry on!
