My Mother's Day gets hijacked with my birthday being so close. My lads live a distance away ( 2/4 hours drive) so they usually come home for my birthday and not Mother's Day. In all my mothering years I have spent Mother's Day with my mother in law and face timed/ Skyped sons once they left home.
Today I prepared for a little reflection as MiL died last year and planned a long walk with DH where we would inevitably chat about his mum and the boys...
But this morning I receive a text to say youngest is on his way via motorbike with some fresh farmers veg in his bike box for a Mother's Day Sunday Dinner. Our family don't do surprises usually so this was very unexpected.
DH has now gone off to a local farm to get a joint as our plan was a picnic out today. He is in preparing a dinner mode now which I suspect will override any MD sadness, just what he needed really.
So a nice unexpected afternoon now planned and time this morning to read my new book from oldest, Everywoman by Jess Phillips. The Quote on the blurb is " We're women and we kick-ass.And that's the truth." Well chosen for me for Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day to you all, hope you are all getting a little bit of spoiling.

I told DH what I'd most like was for dinner to be cooked for me so I could relax. I do all the cooking so a big treat for me. He is hard at work in the kitchen with my kids (4 and 6 yo) making a chocolate cake and then macaroni cheese for dinner. Happy Mummy!

    Hope you're all being spoilt.

Spent a perfect day in the Big Smoke. DH arranged for both Uni sons to get trains up/down to meet us there. The sun was shining and it was a wonderful day. Just home. Tired but happy.

It was my birthday on Friday, then mothers day.
Daughter and her boyfriend came to stay for the whole week, they spent a couple of days visiting friends and shopping in London and Brighton but were around a lot too.
I got a lovely Project life journaling set and some lovely tulips from her. Son doesn't do presents normally but with her here he had no excuse to avoid shopping! he did good a card he wrote some lovely words in and a 'thankful journal' and pen from paperchase (using daughters blogger discount! )

Hubby said he didn't know what to get me for my birthday - no change there then! I told him he had done very well as I had ordered some art markers - quite a few actually as they were in the sale , a handbag and a travel bag.

all of us were out for dinner Friday and yesterday I was in London with a friend seeing Marti Pellow

It's been a good weekend for me
Happy to be back with the Greenies
