Found a spider in the kitchen sink last night. Hate, hate, hate them. We seem to have a lot in the garden at the moment - normally that wouldn't bother me (too much) but they are spinning webs from one tree to the next and I can see them (web and spider) from my window and I'm in a first floor flat! Yesterday I walked out of our front door and walked straight through a web.

I hate daddy long legs. I sit there thinking I'd better shut the window soon, then one floats in.

I smashed the living room light the other day trying to get one with a cushion

They really don't bother me - spiders or daddy long legs.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't normally pick up a spider in my hands, but I will catch them in something & put them outside. I went into my shed at the weekend and there were some massive spiders in there. I didn't mind them watching me, but it did spook me when they disappeared - I knew they were still there, I just didn't know where

I do pick those up in my hand and I do try to put them back outside, but they're so flimsy I'm normally left with a handful of wings & legs!!

They are everywhere! And huge! I'm not scared as such but I can't pick them up, I don't mind catching the little ones in a jar or similar and putting them outside but I need my husband to catch the big ones. Last week we had a biggish one in my bathroom, my husband wasn't awake but I thought, when he wakes I ll ask him to get it. By the time he woke spidey had vanished and that's what freaks me out - where is it??

There are some massive spiders around lately. I don't mind them, I'm the one that everyone else gets to move them. My kids are terrified of them, OH doesn't like them but he will kill them and I don't like people killing them so he'll call me to move them outside.
Floaters, I don't mind either although one did come out of nowhere when I was in bed last week and dive bomb me. DD hates them, they terrify her, the first one she saw a few weeks ago she thought it was a spider. I explained it's not a spider it's a daddy long legs, spiders don't fly. She turned to me with a terrified look on her face and said in a shaky voice "You mean they can fly?". Poor girl. She's terrified of everything.

that was me this morning .... a REALLY big web with thick strands ... felt like fishing twine! and a spider scurrying up to the corner .... wretched thing rebuilt it when I did the school run ... when I got home ... I walked into it again!
got one building a super web across my utility room door ... and another has set up home in my car !!! the children tell me they can see it when we're driving ... the minute I stop and look its gone !!!! ARGHHHHH!

I need to get some conkers and thread them on laces to hang up in my doorways!

I don't hate spiders, but I can't say I like them! I usually point them out to the children and go the other way!

I'm not struck on daddy long legs either ... had one crashing round the bedroom last night ... I hid under the covers!

I quite like spiders , but those flippin horrid flitty floaty daddy long legs , yuck! I don't like moths either when theyre inside - its just the flittiness!!!

I must admit that when I first joined the forum quite a few years ago now , around this time of year Angel started mentioning floaters - which to me were something else all together!!!

I don't mind the daddy long legs I can catch them in my hands (well try to) and put them outside as I hate killing insects.

Spiders on the floor are ok for me. I can get a glass if Im brave and put it out. I hate spiders on walls or ceiling as I don't like the dropping action and I cant catch them. My son loves spiders so he's really helpful.

But I have a real Phobia of the garden web spiders. Those brown stripy ones that build webs from tree to fence and you walk onto them. Sometimes they are so well camouflaged you cant see them. I have got a lot better because I've trained myself not to be so silly and gave myself a slap around he face as it was starting to take over my life. One year (about 8yrs ago) one had made a web outside my front door and it took me half an hour to pluck up the courage to open the front door

I still have to have a 5 minute check before putting out the washing and don't have any bushes or similar that they can attach to. Once I'm certain that there are none I can edge out and put the washing out.
I don't go through any archways or gaps in hedges and I don't sit out in the garden from end August-beg October. ( I can if someone has been out before me and broken all the webs but still cant relax)

We went camping once mid September and I couldn't go into the toilet/shower block because they were everywhere. It was a nightmare ....but im a lot better than I used to be...I just manage it better ( I keep telling myself)
Time Out.. The perfect time for thinking about what you're going to destroy next.

Hate spiders especially the huge ones that are around just now. There has been so many recently that I have started having nightmares about them thinking they are in my bed!!!

Hate daddy long legs too, thankfully not often we get them as it feels like they are big flying spiders chasing you around the room, find myself panicking if we have one!! Reminds me of when I was a wee girl as used to get them in my bedroom and they terrified me!

We welcome ours with a gift of a new hat! They're very pretty hats, come in all shapes and sizes. Some even have designer labels on them "kickers", "Nike" and "rockport" are among the favourites!

I absolutely hate them! They terrify me! I can't go in a room if I know there's one in there either but I am getting better!

When my son was about 12 weeks old we were walking round Tesco and he was in the baby seat in the trolley. He's gurgling away quite merrily, I look down to be greeted by his new friend! It was the size of a £2 coin and was sat on his neck! I screamed, managed to bat it to the floor, jumped on its head, ran away and then merrily had a panic attack! But my boy was safe!

Bleugh! Gives me the creeps jus thinking about it! xxx

I prefer the spiders to the disgusting flies though so don't chuck them out.. Do usually put moths and daddy long legs outside as I feel sorry for them!
