Just finished for 2 weeks and I'm off on holiday on Monday!! Happy days Happy weekend!!!
Off to Greece for some sun and a few drinks hehe x
I turn 40 on Sunday and DH turns 50 So out with friends tomorrow night and then big family lunch on Sunday
Oh! and shush, don't tell but his sister and her DH are flying in from Australia and surprising him tomorrow afternoon. :-D
Oh what a lovely and emotional surprise Tealady for Sunday
I'm attacking my neglected garden today before the weather takes a turn, and then my nephews christening on Sunday, so some lovely family time this weekend too
It looks miserable here today
Today its dds dance and dhs rugby match.
Tomorrow its ds2s football and ds1s first cadet parade.
I love weekends off
When someone tells you nothing is impossible, tell them to go slam a revolving door
DH is home this weekend (yay!). Today's excitement is getting his trousers dry-cleaned. Then tomorrow we are orienteering in London. Unfortunately, I can't race as my knee is playing up. Boo! Hopefully the rest of the family will enjoy themselves.
Hmmm cleaning this morning, if I get off here! Then into Newport (Islander here (IOW) all our big shops are in the town slap in the middle of island, so anything we need we have to go out of town!!! As a mainlander I think it hilarious that people get so worked up about this, it is barely a twenty minute drive away!) to get new kitchen bins from Argos, some locks from B&Q and biscuits from Lidl before taking my four year old to see my Mum - He misses her since he started school!
Tomorrow hubby is threatening a bike ride...
Working today, off tomorrow family away so can spread all my paperwork out and don't have to cook/feed anyone.
I started my weekend with a meal out with my best friends we ended up back at mine, they left at 1am so a little bit tired this morning. Just back from the hairdressers so now it's time for all the boring stuff cleaning/paperwork and the big shop which I hate. I normally have it delivered but couldn't get a delivery time
ds 1 has gone of to uni this week so it's a little bit quiet( missing him lots I am sure it will get better) dh works away and ds2 is at his dads for the weekend. so no excuse to get the jobs done.
Pixie Dust
Our usual Saturday morning routine is DDs tap lesson at 9 and then we pop into the charity shop just near it (got her a cute dress this morning) and then the library. Back home for coffee with DH and then off to buy her some new tap shoes and just chilling until 5 when she has her swimming lesson, which we all love. Then tomorrow my brother and his wife are in London so coming to visit. Not seen them since Christmas and they've never seen this flat, so will have to tidy up!
I'm crafting this weekend filling orders from customers on my craft page.
Here are some new bits I've been making.......
Toothfairy
Amazing book words? Pictures? Toothfairy, how clever of you!
I am hosting a celebration of Scotland remaining in the UK.
It was such a relief yesterday that the yes vote was not a winner. Aswell as all the business/ historic reasons, I was born in England and lived all my life here but all my family are Scottish/ Irish. I wasn't looking forward to a situation of not belonging to a British family and Scotland being classed as a 'foreign ' country. I am proud of my mixed British heritage, and didn't want this to change - or the union Jack to lose it's blue section! I was up at 4am yesterday to watch the count so by the time LO's arrived I was a little emotional, I don't think anyone noticed, the one parent I mentioned it to had forgotten about it, the whole historic happening had just passed her by!
I am now proud of the way we have democratically sorted this out too.
So, in honour of this occasion a few friends have been invited tonight.
My day so far has been spent: cleaning the kitchen, shopping, blitzing the downstairs of anything childmindering and as I type I have just spotted a label on the back of the door that I have missed! Emailing family, walking the dog, photographing birds on our feeding table, filling in a headcount form for funding, piano practice, cuddling DH, posting a birthday card to son in Columbia and finishing a cd design cover for a local musician.
Just got to clean bathrooms, hoover and polish everywhere and prepare food.
Really loving planning something other than a childlinked theme!
FloraDora where do you get your energy from?
I was thrilled with the result too.
All the things I listed were small quick things. I am often not good company because I find it difficult to sit still and do nothing - especially on holiday.
Realise that although I was thrilled with outcome and am hosting a celebration Politically I am rather lacking in specific knowledge so, now everything is prepared, I am sitting down doing some homework on historical and political info - a couple of my guests I know are great debaters and I need to be able to hold my own - especially after a couple of glasses of sparkling.
Just trying to persuade DH to open a decent bottle of whisky this eve ....but not yet in a good enough mood to be that generous, Stoke drew, Leicester Tigers are being slaughtered and a couple of our guests tonight are Bath supporters!( currently beating Leic 45-0 ) - perhaps try again later when he's recovered from his sporting sadness!
aww FloraDora how emotional for you, never thought about the impact it would of had on Scottish/British families. How could that mum forget it's the talk of everyone and everything and congratulations to Scotland for being the first nation to get the support and involvement of the young people in the debate they were so involved and passionate about the outcome.
Enjoy your wee drink and hope your debate went well
