Where's the best place you've been on holiday abroad?
We're going abroard during the 1st week of the summer hols. There's me dh, ds 6 and ds1.
I keep looking online but I just can't decide where to go :-/
We're going away twice in this country for long weekends. To be honest I'd prefer to stay in england but dh is insisting we go abroard!

It depends on how hot you want, Majorca and ibiza are not as hot as turkey cyprus and greece that can get up to 45+, lanzarote is nice as it has a nice breeze, it just depends on what you want.

Portugal is my favourite place to go, we go more or less every year but usually to a different part this time. We tend to stick to the non tourist areas as they are quieter but gorgeous places.
The best place I've been to for my son has to be in lanzarote. It's the Santa Rosa complex in Costa Teguise, it has everything kids could want, soft play, bowling alley, massive pool, kids club, beach 10 mins away but it's still in a relatively quiet part of town.

I love all the Greek islands, especially Skiathos and Thassos.
Couple of years ago we went to Menorca to 'calla galdania'. lots of hotels/self catering/restaurants etc, but although it was busy it didn't seem too busy ( and we don't do 'busy' ) we pretty much stayed on the beach there all week without feeling the need to go anywhere else!
This year we are off to Crete - think its going to be a bit hotter than we usually go for, but its mums friends villa and mum is coming too!
I do like France, but unless you go to the south, the weather is about as predictable as ours!!!

We went to turkey in october. Loved it there but it's far too hot in the summer!
We've been looking at malta but I think it'll be too hot there too.
We want something away from main tourist areas. So far the child friendly hotels seem to be in the main tourist areas.
Holidays are supposed to be relaxing, this is just stressing me out

For a long weekend we would go to Portugal which has lovely beaches and sun.
Best holiday we have ever had was Cuba but defo a once in a lifetime holiday so won't be repeating it!
If you do not hope, you will not find what is beyond your hopes

We went to Fuerta Ventura last year and are hoping to go again this year. No time difference, so great for kids routines, not as hot as Turkey/Greece and has a lovely breeze that doesn't leave you exhausted and grumpy. Lovely locals, not full of stag and hen parties/youngsters. Wherever you go, I would try and make sure there is at least one heated pool. We made that mistake when we went to Crete and you just couldn't stay in the pool for very long. To me there's not point doing that type of holiday if you can't spend most of the day in the pool!

Orlando. That's my happy place! and where the kids love too.
However the best place I've been was a little Island called 'Pankgor Laut Island' in Malaysia. Heaven in earth.
If its a short flight your after, then as another's have said, look at Majorca, Ibiza, canaries or Portugal. There are also
Lots of Greek islands.mmi am looking at Greece for next year. I have not been to a Greek island and they look so pretty.
It's a minefield choosing the right holiday. Good luck.

Where in Canada is your family?
I too have family there - mine are in Cape Breton, & very close to Niagara Falls xx

Mine are in St Catherines and Toronto.
love Sarah.

I love the heat, so sharm el sheik is one my faves, snorkelling there is amazing (children would love it!) or Mykonos in Greece- very beautiful and reasonably untouched. Not too many Brits abroad!
I know what you mean about family friendly vs non touristy locations, it's hard to find the right balance.
I am looking for somewhere lovely to go this year, I really fancy a change. I'm considering Morocco. I don't think this is very child-friendly though! X

Love Florida, even without the theme parks there is loads to do.
Apologies for the random full stops. Phone buttons too small, thumbs too big.

Best holiday I ever had was my first with mr wobble. We took daughter number 2 to manorbier in South Wales. We managed to get teenager, two adults and a four man tent, table and chairs etc all into my ford ka. Was a sight to behold!
The weather was lovely and the site was wonderful ( basic. No amusements/ bar).
Would go back again
The other best holiday was just me and my two girls when my first marriage ended. We went to lesbos Greece and had a fab time. We were adopted by the hotel cleaner and ended up eating with her family on many occasions.
Wibble x
