Ours went up on Sunday. Always been done the first Sunday in December. We only have a little 4ft one and only have decorations in the front room. I love Christmas but married a Scrooge!
If you do not hope, you will not find what is beyond your hopes
Mine will go up on the 10th - always on the 10th as its an anniversary of something sad and we put up our tree in memory.
I would have real but hubby does my head in complaining everytime a needle falls off so i've given in and have artifical.
Main tree in the living room that the kids ( mainly my youngest aged 10) decorate any way they like with all the things they have made over the years. Whereever they put things they stay - i don't change anything.
"posh" tree in the dining room, blue and silver theme. My son and I will decorate together and i'll move things around when hes not looking!
My big one goes in the lounge in the bay window. It is beautiful, and had hand blown glass baubles etc.
So....it isn't going up until the weekend before Xmas. We will have a little one up in the playroom. That is ontop of a high shelf. That will go up next week.
I have two toddlers who grab everything and having don't a ra we decided to leave the big tree until I finish work ( little ones are term time only)
I always put the tree up on Advent Sunday ... put the tree up and dh then decided we needed new lights ... so we've had a bare tree until today when new lights arrived! :-) led things all flashing and clever!
Tomorrow my children ( not mindees ) will decorate it ... we have silver baubles of all sizes, some wooden decorations and things the children have made over the years. Once they have put everything on the tree I leave it. ( cos as it's just silver and wood it looks good whatever they do! )
I put it up as late as ds will let me get away with as he has his birthday on 2nd of december. Oh wants to put it up this weekend but ive convinced him we are too busy lol x
went up monday. we have a 6foot fake tree. I used to be really fussy about how my beads etc went on but since my dd likes to design it I just let her get on an do it now and try my best not to rearrange it afterwards.
I enjoy decorating my fireplace more. I have a lit garland on the mantlepiece and things in the grate and on the mantlepiece.
if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got
We are putting ours up this weekend. We make a big thing of it. Dh does all the decorating with help from children 30 and 34 who revert to about 6 when tree goes up. Grandson also helps as well so quite an event. I sit and watch, tidy up after everyone but I love it.
Nor mine yet............... just got it down from the loft ready to decorate tomorrow (left it late because I know that toddler mindee is causing havoc at home with their tree) xx
This is my tree it is on the decking this year as my little monkey the one you can see trying to escape in the corner rather like climbing and taking all the decorations off. It's quite nice as now I can see the tree from the playroom and the kitchen. Have see it more this year than any other year.
