We're getting a real one at the weekend. Don't know how long it'll last as our pup is 6mths old and destroys most things. The twinkling lights are just an invitation to play.

Tree hopefully going up this weekend, its seen better days but should get another 20 years out of it (I like to get my money's worth)
It will be decorated with a traditional green/red/gold theme oh and some chocolate decorations with always look tasty but rarely are!
I love real trees but dh hates them and I have to totally rearrange my living room to fit a real tree in. So it will be the artifical one. Kids get to decorate it anyway they want

Our decorations are going up this weekend, I had a new tree last year 6ft with snow effect, this one is for the house my old one which is 31 yrs old is going into the new conservatory/playroom there is still yrs left in this one so I have had to buy lots of new baubles for it I have got really excited this year with decorations I just can't wait for friday to start putting everthing up. And will never be looking forward to a monday morning so much as to see the mindees faces

I wish I was like you ......
But....
I love real trees...and always get my way.. I have to totally re arrange my living room to accomodate the biggest tree we can fit in ....but still do it ...nobody....nobody....gets to decorate it ....but me...children contribute....but they know I rule!
I am such an easy going person usually ...but me and the Nordman ....I become ....zero tolerance on anyone who dares to disagree with my choices....
I love Christmas.... Both mid 20's sons still return from either end of the Uk to celebrate...
Normality returns on Christmas eve ...the tree is up ...the decorations sorted..the family and friends arrive for a big bash ....20 days to go ...
Then I have to vacuum every day ....worry the needles are going into my dog's paws...cope with everyone moaning about having to squeeze around furniture... Pander to DH issues over watering the tree and having to test all the bulbs when one goes out...fret over recycling appropriately...
Oh I wish one year someone dares to over ride my bossy overpowering tree issue......
Did ours yesterday mindees were enthralled this am! My dds each have a 3 foot one in their own room they get mini crackers and candy canes on them and whatever decorations are left over or small enough. This year we found an old one )they had new ones last year) and we have put it up in hall. Our big one is on the way out had it about six years so I had to doctor it a bit and dh wasn't impressed but I am sure we will get a decent one after Christmas for next year a lot cheaper! I think it looks grand!
No. Playroom (artificial) one is going up next Tuesday so the little ones can help decorate it.
The rest of the decorations and our family tree are going up on Saturday 14th. We get a real one and I want to give it a fighting chance of surviving until New Year
We're getting a real tree next week but keeping it in the garage until 19th when the last mindee finishes for the holidays. I have to move lots of toy storage out of the way to fit the tree in. That's why we wait

if I wasn't having visitors this year I may have sulked and sulked until I got the real tree but my practical side won out the need the extra settee this year :-)
