It just goes to show you don't have to spend a fortune for children to have fun and learn.
We have been outside all day so far. Paddling pool, water table, sand pit, tunnel, slides etc.
I made up an outside explore bag last night with some new toys for the sand pit/paddling pool and some bubbles and two tomato ketchup bottles, the plastic squeezy ones.
Well the Tomato ketchup bottles have been so much fun. Firstly it was lets squirt the childminder!! Then each other then they were drawing pictures on the patio, then squirting the water in the water table to make bubbles.
What sheer fun!
Now sitting eating a very late lunch because we were having so much fun we didn't realise what the time was.
Oh the other thing was shaped ice cubes in the water table, we had fish and star fish.

Can't beat free fun times!
Another cm I was talking to has had her mindees cooped up in an indoor play area ALL day (theyre still in there from 10am) and has paid out nearly 20 pounds for it.
Whyyyy?
It's a lovely day to just be out in the garden
Makes this job so amazing on days like today, not being stuck in an office!
Sounds a wonderful time. I think I've got some left over guttering in back of garage that I'm thinking of getting my kids to make a cool water track for me and them to play with. I love water play.
oh now you have reminded me. A childminder posted a fab water wall her husband had made for her out of guttering. It was about 3 years ago, she even sent me an email photo but my computer died and I lost it I am going to get my 18 year old son, now he has finished A Levels to make me one.
I must message a mod because I have tried to search for the Thread and I can't find it
I hope this has worked? It's our water discovery wall, the children put balls, sand or water down it! it was an old outdoor table with our old guttering attached at different heights )

They absolutely love it!!
Yep thats the kind of thing but the one I saw on here was a bit more complex.
When it's warm I stick a bucket and containers of water with plastic dinosaurs and see life in them in the freezer to freeze solid, turn it out and you have an ice berg and a chemistry lesson all in one (solids to liquids).

And all the 'ice age' lovers think it's amazing.
Gonna try this. Hmm but first I need some freezer space . oh what a shame I will have to eat all that icecream. The things I have to do for my kids
My lovely hubby built me a water wall too, it been lowered slightly as the top level was a bit too high for kids, I love the bottom pipe that twists so you can change where the water ends up.

This is fab...again I better be nice to hubby!
Do the kids use it much?
Only had it a couple of weeks but so far 2 pre-schoolers love it and spend ages playing with water. 1 of the others isn't really fussed and another prefers using balls to put down instead.
Next we'll try out marbles with it.
Have more jobs for my hubby, but he's between jobs so I need to keep him busy...lol
