Default DIFFERENT WORDS WE USE ....FOR THE SAME THINGS!

So what words do you use that you know others say different.

    For example .......

    Pictures ......movies ........cinema

    Knickers .......pants

    Tomato sauce .......ketchup

    Lounge ........living room

To be made redundant .........laid off

    Jacket potato ..........baked potato

    Jumper ............ Sweater

Bottom .......bum .........ass ...........butt .........rear end

    Toilet .......... Loo ......... Bog

I'm sure you can think of more ..... Do you use slang words?

Don't know, but I often have my husband of almost 20 years stare at me and tell me he has no idea what I am saying! I was a scale E brat which pretty much messes up my dialect and accent so depending on where I am and who I am talking to my words will change without me even being aware of it. I now have 3 scale E brats of my own, so they will sound like they speak another language half the time too haha.

Can't think of any specific words right now though other than scaffy. Taken me years and years and years to start to habitually call them bin men.
