Default Simon Mayo confessions...vegan mindee eats cat food.

Did anyone hear it? Absolutely brilliant!
More importantly, does anyone want to own up to it?

The toddler had been raised as a vegan by its mum and the childminder used to feed it the odd custard cream (unknown to mum) but one day said childminder was reading a story to other mindees when she noticed this one in particular had wondered off. He was in the kitchen sat on the floor when she realised her husband had fed the cat and the cat hadn't eaten it...

Fantastic foraging for food from an early age - it could be a whole new topic

I have often forgotten to lift the dog food bowl and I must admit never once have I come across a child who has tried to snaffle the dogs food....!

my niece used to eat our cats food out of their bowls when she was little, she just couldn't help herself! She's 20 now and nearly 6 feet tall we always have a chuckle about it with her and wonder if thats the reason she's so tall the Daily Mail has a report today that dogs and cats help give children better immunity so hopefully it didn't hurt her

I've never moved the cat bowls off the floor and don't intend to just for ofsted. My cat needs constant access to food and water just like the children do. Children need to learn not to touch certain things and from the sounds of this thread no harm will come to them even if they do decide to have a nibble.

Reminds me of my cousin, she turned veggie/vegan in the mid to late 80's. When she had her daughter in her late 20's she brought her up the same.

When her daughter went to school, she was invited to a birthday party, so mum checked that there was veggie food available, there was suitable food, and cousin made some extra's just to be on the safe side and for the other children to try.

Can't you just see where this is heading

Yup, her daughter was found under the buffet table scoffing the cocktail sausages and some ham rolls

totally agree and don't find it amusing that the minder was giving the child biscuits that were presumably non vegan either .........

When my best friend and I were 10yrs old we wanted to rebel in some way. Smoking was too smelly and expensive so we thought that eating dry cat food would be 'rebelious' It just tasted bland and we couldn't see why the cats would even want to eat it!

When my son was about8 months old he used to crawl away very fast and stuff the cat food in as fast as he could before I caught him, he often smelt of cat food when we kissed him.

Quite agree and yes cat and dog food has to be safe for human consumption before it is sold
