    Unhappy 'spit' on my plants

My parsley & a couple of my roses have got a white ' spit ' like thing on them, around some buds...it wasn't there last night! What is it? How did it get there? & how do I get rid & prevent it?
    Thank you

It's only 'Cuckoo spit' It's a small green bug that sucks sap and makes a cocoon out of its waste..yuck.
You can just wash them off or pick it off. They don't harm the plant unless there are lots of them.

I thought you were announcing a new gardening tip - and advising us all to spit on our plants like you do - a bit like Prince Charles recommends talking to our plants because he does LOL!!! - I have seen that on plants in my gardens over the years but never thought much about it - not very green fingered just like pretty colourful gardens and so long as I have more colourful flowers than weeds I'm happy - sad I know!!!!
