    Default BMI

my husband and i went into boots on saturday to measure our weight and bmi

anyway and here goes the truth

    mine first
    weight 11st 3lb
    height 5ft 7in
    bmi 25%

my ideal weight for my height is
8st 4 lb to 11st 3lb so i am exactly on the top range for my weight but 25% is the highest you can be before you are considered obese

and my body fat ratio is 34.5%
body fat mass 24.6kg (whatever that means)

David's but don't anyone tell him i've put his on

    weight 17st 7 lbs
    height 5ft 11in
bmi 34.4 in the leaflet that accompanies the read out it says that a bmi over 28 is clinically obese,

his ideal weight for height is
    9st 6lb to 12st 10lb

    his body fat 30.1%

he is very broad in the shoulder and very muscular and does have amazing strength but he does have a very large middle

so diet starts tomorrow in earnest
and his body fat mass 33.5%

Think you would be very very thin if you got to 8st 4lb. My height/weight and BMI are pretty much the same as yours and my ideal weight is 9 and a half stone.

    Good luck with your diet

I'm fairly sure if your BMI is over 25 you are classed as plain old 'Over-weight' I think you have to go to 30 or over to be Obese.

Here is a good chart with a great slide thing to easily see your BMI - you are fine!! You lucky cow

That's what my chart says too. Normal body fat for a 40-59 year old female is 23-34% and 34-40% is considered "too high"

In exactly 4 weeks I will fall into that age bracket and overnight I will cease being over-weight and be normal

well amanda if your body fat ratio is 34 then you must carry it very well as it is only 6 weeks sinve we met up and you certainly didn't look as if you were carrying any excess weight.

button were you saying your 40th is in 4 weeks
if so that's an excuse for another party (as if we need an excuse to party)
