Hi everyone,

There was a post up a few months ago marking the progress of all the Childminders to be!

I just wondered how everyone was getting on?
Might be an idea to post a few details on here, so we can see who is in the same boat and give each other a bit of encouragement. I don't know about you but I am getting fed up of waiting now lol!

Date sent off reg pack to Ofsted: Get our packs Sep 28th (we had a 2 months 'summer hol' from our 10 weeks course

We all have to start somewhere Vyx! I am glad you have your meeting pretty soon after deciding you wanted to do CM..I had to wait months until mine!
I am only up to the 'course' bit on that list and decided 7 months ago lol!

hi i can't remember what date i had my breifing finished the course around may /june ish with out looking i can't remember got my exam results the other week with a pass and put medical form in gotta post rest of forms off this week/ next week getting there slowly

When i had my pre-reg visit mrs ofsted said that they have 12 weeks to do their bit which would mean I'd be registered by 29th Sept.

I'm just waiting for my crbs to come through - they are in the final stage but have been for the last 3 weeks. CRB people say they should be back from the police by the 16th.

I hope so. I'm looking after a friend's little boy as a favour whilst I'm waiting for my registration but have 2 other children waiting for me to be registered.

Hopefully it'll happen soon . . .

Just found out on website that CRB's are cleared now so rang Ofsted today who said I was being signed off today. Certificate should be with me by next week! Yippee.....the waiting is the worst part. I have 2 babies waiting for me to be registered

Hi Wendy,

You are doing rather well! I had to wait almost 4 months for my course to start..and then we have had to wait until the end of our course for our reg packs. So been waiting 7 months so far and haven't even had reg pack yet

It seems I have been quite lucky in terms of timings *grin* my ICC (ICP) starts in less than 2 weeks!

I decided in March to become a childminder.
Started course in May.
Sent forms off in August and had Pre reg visit mid August. Am still waiting for CRB's to come back,although my OH arrived today.Not sure how much longer I will have to wait for mine and my step-son's, plus my own son has just turned 16 so now I have to send his off - not sure if this will delay me even more?
My stepson's CRB came back today - so waiting for mine - does anyone know if my registration will be delayed because my son has just turned 16 and I have to send forms off for him now? Doesn't seem fair to me if thats the case.

I havnt had to wait that long

But im already a childminding assistant so not alot will change for me when i finally get registered
