There was a post up a few months ago marking the progress of all the Childminders to be!

I just wondered how everyone was getting on?
Might be an idea to post a few details on here, so we can see who is in the same boat and give each other a bit of encouragement. I don't know about you but I am getting fed up of waiting now lol!

My CRB has really held me up just recieved it so 3 months...in the end i got on to police disclosures dept and chased myself as crb couldn't tell me why it was held up. cx

Shame you have had to wait so long-I was looking through emails earlier and realised I first enquired back in Feb about CM, so have been waiting 8 months so far..and not got a Ofsted date yet either

hi ya just a little update i recived a phone call today from ofsted i have a appointment on the 19th oct at 9.45 for my pre reg visit little nervous not sure what to expect

Just a quick thought - it does seem that people are being charged way over the odds for the health forms. At our briefing meeting we were told that it is our right to negotiate the price if we feel that the price is too high. Also some practices may say that they cannot move the price as it is set by the medical board, which is not true.

Finally a good piece of advice I was given was to ask when would be the best time to collect the forms - if they say they will send them politely decline and say you would like to collect them.

Yes, I was charged £82 at my Doctors. One of the other ladies on my course only £25..perhaps it is an idea to try and debate the amount, but for most doctors there is a set amount.

My Doctor's were meant to send the forms straight back to Ofsted (Ofsted do request this) but they have called me asking me to collect them. I am ok with this, at least I will know they are posted and when etc!
