Default To advertise or not to advertise?

    Hi there!

I am just waiting on my certificate arriving! yippeeeeeeee!

Anyway I am just wondering what to do next, I have a LO lined for after school care 2 days a week and another after nursery, one or 2 days a week ( not every week at the mo but this will suit me at the start).

At the moment I work 3 mornings a week and I have committed to this job for the rest of the school year.

Come summer I will be looking for more hours preferably one more child looking for longer hours of care as I already have 2 of my own and if they all ever overlap that will mean 5 kids! ( I will be registered for 6)

Should I start advertising this place now? I guess someone on mat leave may be already looking andI will prob be able to offer this place without requiring a holding fee.

what do you think? I am a bit scared I will have no money in the summer if I wait too long!

I would advertise but put the date you are available from on there so there is no confusion, some parents will want to sort out after school as soon as the school places are confirmed next month.

I agree with the other replies. I have had enquiries for the Easter and Summer holidays already!

It would also mean that your name is "out and about" so to speak, so that if anyone mentions childminding in your area your name is one of the first they think of whether you have vacancies or not. You never know when one of your mindees might give notice and then you might have vacancies sooner than you think?
