    Default Fire Blankets

Hello, is there a certain regulation on where the fire blankets are kept? a certain distance from the cooker etc??
I am in the process of drilling a hole to screw mine onto the wall but don't know where to do it..
Ive got a brand new kitchen can I can hide it behind the door or something or does it need to be in a certain position!

Well.....mine is on the door which is quite near the hob but is facing into the utility room so I cant see it. I don't think you have to have one but others may correct me

I had a new kitchen fitted and refused to have it on show. Its never going to be much use as I don't use a chip pan or anything that would set on fire. I have an induction hob so no bare flame.
A drenched teatowel would do the same job
Time Out.. The perfect time for thinking about what you're going to destroy next.

I have one but I don't think I was told I HAD to have one. Contact your fire officer and they will come and advise you

I would say to think about where a fire is most likely to occur and have it visible but not to close. I have a fire on the stove once and I was surprised at the level of panic I experienced, it was small and my children were safe but they saw it and remember what I did! I didn't have a fire blanket so I used a tea towel..... I have had a fire blanket since!
