    Default Floor Space

    Hi,

I know I have to measure my available floor space (not counting furniture etc).
    I have 14.59m2. So it's a little tight!

I'd like to have 3 under 5, and 3 over 5. I don't know how much floor space the over 5's require.

Can anyone advise if I can have the numbers I'd like please?

    Thanks.

I'm not sure about the size/space etc. But I gt registered 2 weeks ago and hadn't measured up etc and the inspector just asked if I wanted to register for maximum numbers, I said yes and she never asked for measurements or measure anything herself?

I had a query about floor space- PACEY told me it didn't matter, but I checked with ofsted and got this reply:

    "Dear Sir/Madam

    Thank you for your e-mail.

In response to your enquiry I can confirm that section 3.56 of the EYFS does apply to childminders. The space available to a childminder can alter the amount of children they are able to care for.

I hope you find this information helpful.

However should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Regards

If you look at the relevant section of the EYFS it explains it. Hope this helps

Not sure about the over 5 bit though. It took me a while to work out the different combinations of ages and how many I could have in different circumstances.
