I have some multicultural doll finger puppets. They are made by the puppet company. I bought them online.

It's quite easy to find black dolls in shops / car boot sales /NCT sales etc but impossible to find Asian dolls - I spent half my holiday in Thailand looking for dolls but all their children play with white dolls and white barbies!
I have seen Black and Asian and Hispanic dolls in a catalogue for about £25 each - but can't remember the catalogue/company name at the moment. You could just look out for sets of people to compliment toy sets you already have eg: happystreet

I've got some of the Corolle dolls - lovely, but not cheap. You can get ethnic baby Annabel dolls from Argos as well and The Entertainer usually has hard bodied dolls.

I have the ikea dolls and my girl loves them

Try asking people who you know are going on holiday to a country that you are interested in to look out for some (be aware of safety issues...I ask for 'soft dolls'). I have managed to gain a lovely hand-made Ugandan family (mum, dad and two children) all are dressed in authentic clothing........I do the same for musical instruments too! Just do a strict assessment on them, check the stuffing and buttons/decorations, I've never come across anything that could not be used ( mind you I do supply a rigid list of requirements to the poor holidaymaker!!!) Hth xx

I go some 'rag' dolls from IKEA years ago - they also had boy dolls which is also quite rare. I got some mini dolls from Tiger for small world/dolls house play.

In all the shops in Thailand I couldn't find an Asian doll and the traditional dressed dolls are for collections and not suitable to toddler play. The only dolls I found in traditional dress that I can let children play with are tiny ones attached to key rings - going to attach laminated numbers to the key rings to make them into a counting / number line game.

I bought a few from IKEA and also bought a Doc Mcstuffins. I agree it is very hard to find to find any Asian dolls

I ask parents when they go on hols to bring me back something representing the country if they can but sometimes they just say they can't find anything unusual. Never had a doll bought back either
