    Default Day Care Diploma valid?

    Hi all

Quite a while ago I started a Diploma course titled "Child Day Care" with the intention of starting my own after schools club. I'm still in the middle of completing the course after becoming a first time mother last year and now we intend to build a house. For that reason I don't think I'll be able to start up right away when I receive my diploma, what with the start up costs involved so I am now considering home childminding so I can be with my wee girl too :-)

I'm wondering if anyone knows offhand if the diploma would allow me to become a home childminder, or will I need to undertake another course?

    Thanks!

All registering childminders have to complete an introduction to childminding course regardless of prior qualifications.

Your local people will be able to give you more help because different areas have different course requirements

Thanks for the info Sarah, I may get myself enrolled as this diploma may take some time to complete!
