Default From nanny to a childminder

I'm currently a nanny and have been for over 8 years and before this worked in a private nursery for 5 years. I am qualified at NNEB and am now looking to become a childminder as I have a 21mth old of my own. How do I go about becoming a childminder? We are due to move within the next six months is this something I start training for now and finish once we have moved? ( we will be moving county's ) many thanks for any advice x Kelly x

You need to contact your amply information services and ask for the next pre reg briefing, this will give you all the info you need. You can take your registration with you when you move

I replied to a similar thread to above about starting childminding. You might get the process finished in 6 months but I would start the process ASAP. As it says in the post above, first port of call is your local authority family information service.
