    I need to update my laptop and quite fancied an ipad.....anyone use these with the children or am I better getting a desktop or another laptop?

    Whatever you get make sure it can be dropped without shattering!

    I have desktops for the children because they are more robust and I can stand behind them and see what they are doing.

    I have 2x iod touches lo's use, they love them. We can't print off them which is a draw back but because they are small they fit in their hands and can do things they can't manage with the mouse.
    They only get them under direct supervision and have to sit on the sofa when using.

    I have a touch screen desktop which the children love. I do have an Ipad but very wary of using it with the children. The desktop however is very robust and even the really diddies can access the paint program and mark make.
