    Default Leapfrog tag reading system

Does anyone have one of these? What do you think of it? Do the children use it lots? Do you feel it actually 'teaches' them?

Lots of DS's friends have the junior version and their parents rave about it, but I just can't see the point. Maybe I'm being old fashioned, but if it just reads the book to the child is it not just a waste of money? I can read books to the children! Am I missing something somewhere?!

This is the version for older children:

And this is the junior version:

We bought the older one as a joint Christmas present one year for our own children and yes they did use it at the time but you have to download the stories and the pen can only store so many. That reminds me ds had a Toy Story book for this Christmas that I need to download.

As it doesn't get used that much, I'm just glad I got it in the sales
