Default How often do you share learning journals with parents?

Just wondering how often you share work done, observations etc with parents? Do learning journals need to be kept locked away with contracts etc?

About once a half term or when I or the parents think about it!

Yes I keep mine with their Contracts in a locked metal file box I bought in Rymans.

They get sent home at each half term and returned when the children start back (I'm term time only).

Every 6mths or so. To be honest, parents are more i nterested in my daily diaries (which they obviously see on a daily basis) and aren't really bothered about the LJs.

I don't keep them locked away as the children like to get their own journals out & look at photos.

Same as Mouse - parents have the daily diaries, so can see what they've been up to every day - and enjoy looking though the LJ's seeing how they've grown - so nicer over a slightly longer period.

I use Diaries everyday which I make sure has lots of info in for parents. LJ's are out on a shelf if parents want to look, but to be honest, if they went home with half the parents then I probably wouldn't see them again so have nothing to show Ofsted!
