Data protection

I have heard through other local childminders,we should register with Data protection agency?
I have looked online this morn,but not 100% sure what im looking for.
Any advice gratefully received.x

As most childminders use a digital camera then they should register with ICO

Cannot get to last page without completing form and it is a long time ago when I registered so can't remember - might be quicker just to give them a call and ask
