I seem to have asked for quite a few of these, and I'm just wondering if I'm going to have a big red flag put up on my records because of it?! And if it will affect my chances of being granted one?

If you ask for several variations Ofsted may visit you. It's not to do a full inspection, but just to have a chat and make sure you've got all the basics in place.

A cm friend of mine had had several variations and had an inspector visit. The inspector was only there for half an hour. SHe just had a quick look round the house and a quick check on the attendance register & risk assessments. It wasn't anything to worry about (though of course my friend did worry )
